OSINT Methodology: Building Reliable Intelligence from Open Sources
How structured open-source intelligence tradecraft can match or exceed classified sources for geopolitical monitoring — and the verification frameworks that make it possible.
We have been heads-down for the past three months building what we believe is a step change in what an open-source intelligence platform can deliver. ConflictRadar V2 represents our largest release to date, touching every major module in the platform.
146-Country Travel Risk Assessments — We now provide real-time travel risk scores for 146 countries, updated continuously based on our conflict data, political stability indicators, health advisories, and infrastructure assessments. Each country profile includes region-level breakdowns so you can distinguish between a stable capital and a contested border province. These assessments are designed to meet the duty-of-care requirements that global organizations face when sending personnel into elevated-risk environments.
AI Copilot Improvements — The intelligence copilot now produces faster, better-grounded responses. Every AI-generated assessment includes inline source citations that link directly to the underlying data. We have also added a "challenge" mode where you can ask the copilot to argue against its own assessment, surfacing alternative interpretations that might otherwise be missed.
Real-Time Desktop Alerts — You no longer need to keep ConflictRadar open in a browser tab. Our desktop notification system delivers alerts directly to your system tray, with configurable priority thresholds so you only get interrupted for events that meet your criteria. This was our most-requested feature from operational security teams who need to maintain awareness without constant screen monitoring.
Keyboard Shortcuts — Power users can now navigate the entire platform without touching a mouse. Press ? anywhere in the app to see the full shortcut reference. Common workflows like cycling through unread alerts, opening the intelligence copilot, and toggling map layers are now accessible in one or two keystrokes.
We are already building toward V3 with a focus on collaborative workflows — shared intelligence workspaces, team annotations, and role-based alert routing. If you have feature requests, our roadmap is public and we prioritize based on user votes.
